TDA4VH-Q1: Vref default setting different from JEDEC standard

Part Number: TDA4VH-Q1

Dear expert,

We found in the DDR confg tool v0.10, the default Vref settings are different from the value in the JEDEC standard. Could you please help to check the reason for this modification? Is there any optimization? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Xingyu Zhu

  • Hi TI Experts,

This question is just about the initial Vref setting. We know that after training the values will be changed.

As customer will take the default setting of DDR confg tool v0.10 for reference to optimize the parameters with other DDR vendors, they would like to know some story here why we selected 25.6% & 16% for CA & DQ Vref respectively, but not follow the default values of 27.2% described in Micron MR12 / MR14.

This may give some clue for customers to optimize the initial setting for other DDR vendors.

    Thanks a lot!

    Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

Customers shouldn't need to modify the VREF initial setting - though, the default values of the LP4 memory should be fine too.

As a side note, these inputs have been under consideration to be removed from the tool.

    Kevin
