CCSTUDIO: Installation review

Part Number: CCSTUDIO

Hi team,

I have a customer who will follow up below with questions he has on installations for Code Composer. He sent me the below email on Wednesday, so I'm anticipating there will be additional notes that he'll provide at his earliest convenience. For now, though, see if you can offer some guidance on the below email. Thanks!

"I’m wondering if you can help guide me, or help find the right person to guide me, through the next several installation steps of CCS v12.5.

I restarted the CCS 12.5 Setup Wizard (offline installation) and it initially reported that there was a pending reboot -- I’m guessing that I had started the reinstall before my accident but never completed it.  Anyway, after two restarts the pending reboot was resolved.

Rather than take a potentially wrong turn in the re-install I’m hoping that you can assist to insure that I’m making the right choices.  I don’t mind if this takes a few emails to accomplish; I’m mostly concerned that I’m selecting the right options.

I’ve selected the Custom Installation option which brings me to the dialog to Select Components.  I’m assuming the C55x is the one I need to install.  Are there any other components I should install at this point?"

  • Hello Marco,

Please note that the reboot may not be necessary for the installation to be successfully completed. CCS simply checks for any pending reboot request that Windows is aware of. Often this pending reboot has no impact on CCS but the installer notes this regardless. My own personal experience is that the reboot is often not needed. I rarely reboot right after installing CCS despite getting the message almost every time.

What device(s) are your working with?

    Thanks
