rtdxx.lib for C2000 source

Hello,

I have an issue with rtdxx.lib for C2000 described in a post named "Simulink to F28335 communication using RTDX" on "TMS320C2000™ 32-bit Real-time MCUs" forum (http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/tms320c2000_32-bit_real-time_mcus/f/171/t/130663.aspx). Here I will only repeat my questions to which I didn't get answers on the aforementioned forum:

Is it possible to obtain a project from which rtdxx.lib in DSP/BIOS 5.31.x was built so I can rebuild it for F28335 with FPU support?
Is there a way to make rtdxx.lib (DSP/BIOS 5.31.x) link into a F28335 CCS project with FPU support?

Hi Josib --

I'm sorry, but there's not much we can do to help with RTDX issues. We don't provide source code to customers. Have you tried updating to DSP/BIOS 5.33 or later which has the floating point libraries?

Yes, I tried using rtdxfp.lib form DSP/BIOS versions 5.32, 5.32.04, 5.33.03 and 5.41.10.36 and in all these cases I get the same behavior: host-->target communication works fine but target-->host times out. The only way I managed to get two way communication is by disabling FPU support and using rtdxx.lib from DSP/BIOS 5.31.x (the same library from DSP/BIOS 5.32 or newer also doesn't work).

What about my second question: Is there a way to make rtdxx.lib (DSP/BIOS 5.31.x) link into a F28335 CCS project with FPU support?

Unfortunately not. The linker will not link fixed point libraries with floating point libraries. I think you're going to need to find a different way to send data to the host.

Hi Akash Mullangi,

I'm afraid the best we can offer you with those versions is the KOV (kernel object viewer) in CCS. Note that it's a stop mode only tool.

In later versions of BIOS (DSP/BIOS 5.40 and up I believe) and CCSv4.x (or 5.x) there is a better tool called ROV. But, it is also a stop mode tool.
