TI development platform

Hi Team,

I come from flex IT team,  we have the following concerns, could you please provide us the answer? Really appreciate.

Kindly confirm if TI development platform can use non-Oracle Java products like freeware-Amazon Corretto to replace Oracle java?

Also need confirm if your team can provide support on ubuntu OS vulnerability patches of TI development platform? and If the TI development platform can use Red hat OS  instead of ubuntu? Thank you.

    I assume when you say "TI development platform", you are referring to CCS. If not, please let me know.

    It may be possible but this is not an officially supported environment. Hence if you run into any questions/issues, we can only provide limited assistance.

    We extent of our Ubuntu support is that we validate a CCS release on a defined set of Ubuntu distributions.

    We don't have any more details regarding specific vulnerability patches. If you have specific questions, please let me know.It

    Hello,

    We plan to extend vulnerability scanning to TI development platform, hence I hope to confirm ahead more details as the following, Thank you.

    1. Regarding to keeping oracle java, many java related vulnerabilities could come, we would like to upgrade java to commercial latest version, Do you provide support? Are licensing fees included in our purchase contract?

    2.Can TI development platform upgrade to the latest LTS version of Ubuntu22 or Ubuntu23? If a high-risk OS-related or development platform vulnerability comes up, we patch it and face issues, can your team provide support?

    3.Are all TI development platform softwares licensed and included in our procurement contract? Even if upgraded to high version, like oracle java.

    Please note that current versions of CCS Eclipse ship with and use OpenJDK. This is the environment we officially support

    We can provide support for Ubuntu 18.04LTS, Ubuntu 20.04LTS, and Ubuntu 22.04LTS and any official patches for those version

    I'm not sure exactly regarding procurement contract. We do have our license information available: https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/users_guide/ccs_legal.html#license-agreement

    1.We find oracle java included in rtos in the TI8.0 platform codes. please confirm.

    2.Can TI 8.0 oracle java be directly replaced to OpenJDK? 

    3. Any advise if can replace? Are there any version requirements for replacing to OpenJDK?

    4. if replaced, Any compiling issue?

    5. Any burning issue if compiling successfully?

    I don't know what "TI8.0" means. There is no such product.

    Are you referring to Code Composer Studio 8.0?

    And what "rtos"? 

    I can't answer your questions without exact details. Please provide the exact product names and versions for ALL the products you are interested in.
