6 audio channel inputs on OMAP-L138 eXperimenter Kit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138, TLV320AIC3106, OMAP-L137

Hello,

I want to sample 6 audio inputs using OMAP-L138 eXperimenter Kit.

The kit uses tlv320aic3106 codec which allows 10 audio inputs but has only 2 connected (left and right channels).

How can I connect to the other 8? Is it possible without adding an external codec for sampling the rest of the channels?

Regards,

Jacob.

  • Jacob,

Sorry for my delay in responding.  Unfortunately, there is no easy way to run multi-channel audio on the OMAP-L138 EVM.  It would require significant hardware modification to make this happen, so it's not something we can support on that board.

The closest solution may be to use the OMAP-L137 EVM, which has an optional add-on board (sold by Spectrum Digital) that supports multi-channel audio.  However, this board uses different audio codecs and is not supported by the standard TI software packages.
