AM6442: Broken link TIREX AM64x EVM Quick Start Guide to new AM64x Academy 9.00.00.00 v2

Part Number: AM6442
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDS64EVM

in the path

Quick Start Guide (ti.com)

The Next Steps has a broken link

I believe this SHOULD be fixed to point to something under the newly rewritten AM64x Academy (ti.com)

Maybe this ?? (Check with Nick Saulnier  )

While those documents are fixed, perhaps we may want to deprecate the GP type on the TMDS64EVM references as you are not manufacturing those without having the HSFS type ICs on those EVMs.

  • Hello Jim,

Thanks for reporting. Yes, we had to deprecate the older AM64x Linux Academy (which only covered Linux) to replace it with the new AM64x Academy (currently with Linux, Multicore, and security, and in the future will add MCU based on this current academy, as well as a so-far-unwritten PRU module, and potentially others).

We are tracking several URLs that need to be updated, but I don't think the EVM getting started guide was on our radar. I'll make sure it gets updated, and I'll pass along your feedback on GP references as well.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Nick: I'd like to know if these documentation linkages can be patched by the ver 9.2 AM64X SDK release (and forecast of when) - thanks!

  • Hello Jim,

We're working on it from several angles - looking at manually updating links, and also looking at adding URL redirects from the stale links to the new version of the academy. I don't have a fixed timeframe for either of those things, but they are both in flight.

If you were asking when we can expect the full AM62x SDK 9.2 release, development is almost done. I would expect it to be in March unless we run into some issues during testing and validation, in which case it might slip to April.

    Regards,

    Nick
