With respect to the C5515 and C5505 DSP's:
The operating temperature of the processors is specified in terms of ambient only:
Commercial: -10 to 70C
Industrial: -40 to 85C
Can you tell me what the maximum JUNCTION temperature is (if they you actually have a spec)?
In our application, as the continuous operating temperature range extends to 70C (we also have to pass a 24 hour test at ambient of 85C), we expect a 15 to 20C temperature rise inside the product itself. (Meaning the internal "ambient" may be as high as 90C continuously, and 105C during the short term test). In light of this, we are looking for DSP or "DSP like" controllers with maximum junction ranges up to 125C or higher.
I see some TMS320x20000 series parts that meet this spec. I was wondering about the C5000 family.
I also see data in table 7.1 of the datasheet ( Thermal Data for ZCH package ), but want to be able to calculate junction temp at the ambient of 105C and see if the device will vwork in my application.
Thank you, Bryan Busacco
