AM5728: Maximum camera resolution support in AM5728

Hi,
We are using am5728 SOC based custom board. We wanted to know the maximum resolution that is supported by the VIP module for video mode. We have a custom camera that supports upto 5M resolution.
Also is VPE responsible for limiting the maximum resolution (5M in our case) input that will be displayed on the LCD?

What is the exact resolution that is needed here? Is the 5MP resolution the exact resolution needed?

Hello Josue,

Yes the 5MP is the required resolution (2592 X 1944).

The max line width supported on VIP and also on VPE is 2048.

Hello Josue,

We are Using TI Linux SDK version 6.3 . What is the resolution support in that?

Is there any update in SDK version 8.3 regarding resolution support?

Hi,

This is HW limitation, so it remains same even on Linux.
