Part Number: AM625
Hi Support Team,
AM62x has a CPSW and a 2 Ethernet port,
could it work like a HUB, forwarding packets coming in from one port to the other port?

Kanae

Hi,
The AM62x is capable of putting the 2 Ethernet ports into switch mode which can forward packets between the two ports without interaction from the host processor.

Hi Schuyler,
Thank you for your reply.
Do you mean to say that the following site is the only way to set up switch mode?
AM62x: The TRM (www.ti.com/.../spruiv7b.pdf does not seem
to specify the switch mode setting, but is the only way to use the Linux kernel driver provided in the SDK?

Hi,
The method you identified in the Linux user guide is one method to setup the CPSW in a switch or bridge configuration. If another OS is planned to be used then that OS would be required to have similar support that sets up the ALE in the CPSW to direct packets as desired between the ports.
