Hello,
I have a question regarding the Boot mode,
as you know I can switch between boot modes using the switches (SW7,SW11),
My question is : Is there another way?
I want to change the Boot mode between (MMCSD- eMMC- OSPI-UART) Remotely or in runtime instead of switches,
are these switches mapped to pin headers?
or is there another way to change modes?

Boot Mode Switches are mapped to BOOTMODE Register in Soc (switch configuration will reflect in register)

We haven't validated such use case from SDK.

You have to change the Boot Mode switches and switch to different boot mode.

Hi Brijesh,
Sorry if my expression wasn't accurate enough,
I want to be able to change the modes using SW/Scripts So I can run test cases on the evaluation board remotely.

Please refer to TRM for Boot Mode Pins Mapping under section "4.Iitialization"

Also, refer to CTRLMMR_DEVSTAT register (from Excel sheet) mapping to the above Boot Mode configuration.
CTRL_MMR_MAIN_DEVSTAT (0x00100030).

As mentioned above, we haven't validated switching boot mode at run time.

Thank you Doredla for your help,
but please can you provide the links for documents you mentioned?
+Is there a chip on the board that can set the flashing mode for the MCU before flashing?
Because it's not so clear how I can flash and select the desirable mode BEFORE flashing the SW,
I mean these registers configuration needs to be flashed 1st with the SW right?

Please find the TRM from ti.com of J784S4 SOC page.

Yes, before your boot loader boots, you have define the boot mode and perform Soft Reset.
Please refer to FAQ, suggested when then Boot switches are not available on Board.

Above would sample code in FAQ could be part of your boot loader and check for required boot mode if not change boot mode and proceed.

As mentioned above we haven't validated this (Boot mode switching).

Hope, above will give some idea about Boot Mode Pins mapping to Register and configuring via S/W.
