Actually now see in this thread that some changes need to be done in rti_wdt driver. I also tested tisdk-default-image-am64xx-evm.wic.xz image (based on sdk9.0) and I see that watchdog works fine so these changes were probably applied there. What exactly changes were done in rti_wdt driver?

The developer and I have been trying to track down a separate watchdog timer issue that affects multiple platforms (cannot remember whether it did or did not impact AM64x) that I've been trying to resolve first - updates for that effort at https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1311045/am623-wdt_rti-control-via-systemd

Thank you for your patience - I'm back from vacations, and we are making enough progress on the separate watchdog timer issue that I can start looking at other watchdog questions again.

If I understand properly, you are able to see the expected behavior when running Linux SDK 9.0 (i.e., processor reboots after watchdog countdown finishes), but you do NOT see the reboot happening as expected in a different software release? Please tell me more about the software release where you are seeing different behavior.
