  • Hi Feng Xiao Ming,

Please check if any of the step mentioned in our SATA faq is of help  http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TI_SATA_FAQ#Debugging_TIPS

Are you using a port multiplier between DM816x and HDD?

Also, please send us the complete boot log and let us know the PSP release version you are using.

    Regards

    Mansoor

  • I have try many SATA cables. the boot info as such:

  • Hi Xeng fiao ming,

From the logs looks like you are using the latest kernel but I'm not sure why the device is not being detected. I could suggest few things which you could try,

    • Is there a way by which you could confirm that this HDD is working properly? Maybe you could connect it to a Windows/Linux PC and see if the OS identifies the device and it works correctly.
    • Please try connecting the HDD to the second port on the DM816x EVM.
    • Try a different HDD (maybe WD5001AALS 500GB) with DM816x, this should confirm that nothing is wrong with the board.

    Regards

    Mansoor
