Is there a way to convert an MP4 file to a raw10 frame format using the TDA4VH chip? If not, what external hardware and software are required?
Additionally, is there any software tool that can perform this type of conversion.
Hello,
From a strictly decoder perspective, there is no IP that has MP4 to RAW12/RAW10 support. Additionally, I don't believe there is any future plan for us to have an IP for this use-case. Additionally, I am not aware of any hardware or software tool that can help with this type of direct conversion. I will look further into it but as far as I know, I'm not sure if TI has a module that can support this MP4 to RAW10 pipeline.
Thank You,
Sarabesh S.
Hi,
TDA4VH currently only has decoder support for H.264/H.265 to YUV420. Decoding to YUV422 is out of the HW spec. Additionally, only 8-bit is supported.
Thanks,

Hi,
I have one mp4 video data encoded with H.264 which i want to convert into YUV422 or RAW10 and then i want to send through MIPI CSI-2 TX using TDA4VH. I have read somewhere that in the display controller system it can have chroma up-sampling which can convert yuv420 to yuv422. Can we use that in this application and have Mipi CSI-2 TX with Yuv422.
Thanks and Regards
Hello,
I will look into this by asking our CSI expert about this use-case. Please expect a delay in response as he in OOO until next week. Thank you for your patience.

Yes, the CODEC can decode H.264 to YUV420 and the DSS can convert YUV420 to YUV422 and then be sent through the CSITX.
