AM623: Does AM623 09.01.00.08 SDK support USB-MSC boot modes now?

I believe I tested USB-MSC boot on SK-AM62B EVM, and it works.

Do you run into any issue with USB-MSC boot?

Yes, and others indicated it was a SoC issue, is it possible this has been fixed recently?

Is there a list of USB-MSC devices that have been shown to work? Perhaps the Microcenter dual USB A/USB micro C I have just happened to be one that was not suitable.

Hi Robert,

It is impossible to provide such list without testing each individual device. Even a different batch of the same device might have different electric characters which would make the device tolerate or not tolerate the timing violation in i2328.

Sounds good, Any advice as to USB speeds this had a problem with?

• USB 1.0/Low-Speed: 1.5 Megabits per second (Mbps)
• USB 1.1/Full-Speed: 12 Mbps.
• USB 2.0/Hi-Speed: 480 Mbps.

Hi Robert,

I believe the ROM by default tries to enumerate the MSC device in high-speed if the device is capable. I don't think we tested to limited the link to full-speed.

Have you tested the Microcenter device you have doesn't boot AM62x at all?

Yes priorly, but will try again in a bit, Working Ethernet boot now, I did git USB-DFU sorted, and SD card boots sorted.

If this USB device doesn't boot, please try to test others if you have. I have several thumb drives, none of them is affected by i2328.
