PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X: Reset PCIE controller

Currently, the SDK version mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_09_01_00_41 is being used, but the reset function of the PCIe controller is not provided.

The slave devices under PCIE may occasionally not be scanned by PCIE due to timing reasons. I would like to reset the PCIE controller in the system to rescan the slave devices. Can you provide a method for resetting the PCIE controller?

Means AM64 (MCUSDK 9.1) is working as PCIE-RC ?

Which device is connected as EP ?

Yes, AM64 is currently working in RC mode. Two EP devices are mounted below, one is EMMC and the other is Intel Ethernet controller.

The current issue is that during the device scanning process, there may occasionally be unsuccessful attempts to obtain the link status, resulting in being trapped in a loop and unable to proceed with the next configuration step.

I suspect that the timing issue with the EP device is causing occasional difficulties in completing the training process correctly. Perhaps resetting the RC device can help the EP device complete initialization correctly. Or do you have any better solutions?

Hi,

PCIe RC feature is not enable for generic purpose in SDK 9.1.

Functionality tested in SDK9.1 is AM64x as RC and AM64x (MCUSDK 9.1) as EP.

Can you please help me with some more details about the use case / application ?

I am currently using PCIE_RC_MODE and legacy irq, and the EP device can be used normally. However, there is a board that occasionally appears in the Pcie_waitLinkUp stage and cannot obtain normal initialization information continuously. I think it may be related to the timing of device initialization. Resetting the RC controller may solve this problem, or is there any reason for getting stuck in Pcie_waitLinkUp? How do I need to investigate? Or how to solve it?

Hi,
Can you try to just write BCRSBR (bit #22) of the PCIE0_RC_I_RC_PCIE_BASE_I_INTRPT_LINE_INTRPT_PIN register ?

That would be the PCIe trigger a reset on the downstream port of an RC.
