SODIMM DDR3 on TMS320C6678

Hi,

In the document sprabi1a, it's write that the DSP support several DRAM topologies, but in their topologies, the SODIMM 204 x64 is not write.

In my design we want to use SODIMM because it`s smaller and it`s easy to buy.

The SODIMM is similar to UDIMM.

Is it possible to use SODIMM 204 instead of UDIMM?

  • DDR3 SODIMMs have the same basic circuit as the UDIMM and, in many cases, use the same base devices.  They are also routed in a fly-by manner to allow leveling to work correctly.  Since SODIMMs appear to be just a form factor change they should work in the same manner as the UDIMMs when connected to a Keystone device.
