AM3517: I2C display Driver

Part Number: AM3517

Hello
for our product we need to change a display. We found an alternative one,Ii am trying to compile the driver.
On Display Driver product Datasheet it is written:

Platforms supported MTK Platforms with Kernel3.18

This driver needs device tree that I think we don't have in this version of kernel

Linux 2.6.37-svn11 armv7l

Distributor ID: Angstrom
Description:    Angstrom GNU/Linux 2011.06 (Dureza)
Release:        2011.06
Codename:       Dureza

linux-2.6.37-psp04.02.00.07

I am trying to copy from the existing driver for the existing I2C display but I would like to know if you have found symilar issues or you can help me in some way.

Thanks

Riccardo
  • Hi Riccardo,

I would recommend you to check with your LCD manufacture. Kernel 2.6.36 is a very old Kernel and it's not something we support.

  • Hello Riccardo,

also, just to set support expectations: AM35x & AM37x are very old devices, and we can no longer support design questions about the hardware or the software for these parts (other than pointing you to the existing documentation on the product page, or the latest TI software release from 10-15 years ago). If you run into issues, you still may find older threads on the forum where someone else ran into the same issue and found a solution.

    Regards,

    Nick
