TDA4VM-Q1: [Q] How do I set up video1, video2....video8 for DS90UB960

Dear,

It's our block diagram.

As you see, we use the 8 camera, and It's connected to TDA4VM CSI port through DS90UB960.

( camera1, camera2, camera3, ....., camera 8 )

Also, we use the processor SDK linux for J721e 09.01.00 version.

Then, I use the DS90UB960 linux driver and device tree (dts ) in this SDK.

But, I don't know " How do I set up video1, video2, video3,..... video 8 for DS90UB960 "

I want the video1 to connect to the camera1, also the video2 to connect to the camera2, etc....

Also, the video1 is linux device like " /dev/video1"

Please, let me know that.

If you are using Linux only SDK, then you can start from Step 6.

That's the solution for my question, but it's ONLY solution for test.

Also, I can't applied our production line in our factory.

I want to know " this solution already applied to built the image ( tisdk-edgeai-image-j721e-evm-20240322072346.rootfs.wic.xz )

I means...

In case the NXP BSP, If I change the ISI's setting in device tree ( xxxx.dts file ), this solution was applied the built image

Hi,

For the edgeAI, they run the below script to setup the camera upon boot

setup_cameras.sh « scripts - edgeai/edge_ai_apps - Unnamed repository; edit this file 'description' to name the repository.

You would have to add your sensor here and configure the same

Sorry, I can't find this file ( setup_camera.sh ) in my BSP.

Please, let me know this file's location in BSP side.

Hi hosung shin,

In the created SD Card, do you see the folder egde_ai_apps under the /opt/ folder?

If yes, then in that, you could find this under scripts folder.

Hi Nikhil,

Yes, I found this script file in SD card, after booting the SD image.

But, this method also need to be modified one time after the first boot.

This method is not the method I want.

Is there a method to not change it at all?

( I means..... It must have already beed monified from the first boot )

Hi hosung shin,

Are you looking for a solution that works upon boot? As Nikhil has suggested, modifying the setup_cameras.sh would be the best solution as this gets ran upon boot by the init_script.sh that is located one directory before. Modify the setup_cameras script, run it to ensure it works as desired, reboot your board and it should run automatically.

Yes, I know this solution(with modification) by Nikhil has suggested.

But...

As I said, this solution need to be modified one time after the first boot.

Is there the solution to not change it at all?

As you said,

If this solution(with modification) is the best solution, I understand " Among the solution provided, none can be applied without modification"

Is that right?

I need to check whether there is this solution(without modification) or not, because of the other platform (NXP) has this solution(without modification).

Hi hosung shin,

So the desired solution would be one where no further modifications would need to be made to a freshly flashed SD card? In that case, you could make the required modification once and make an image of the SD card using the dd command. Flash this newly created image and there would be no requirement to make a modification.
