upgrading kernel

I am using DVSDK 2.10.01.18 and Kernel 2.6.18. (the processor is DM365)

I'd like to upgrade newer kernel(2.6.19 or 2.6.27) than 2.6.18 without changing version of DVSDK

Is it possible? if yes, tell me how to get kernel image and how to upgrade it.

and could you know me what is the newest version of kernel which DVSDK 2.10.01.18 can be running ?
