Compare AM1808 and AM1810

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1808, AM1810, PROFIBUS

Hi,

I would like to ask a question on AM18x.

From the comparison table at http://www.ti.com/product/am1808, AM1808 has everything AM1810 has, with two more PWMs. Why its product number 1808 is smaller than 1810? And why it is cheaper than 1810?

  • Hello,

Thanks for your interest in TI processors.

There's one major difference between AM1808 and AM1810. AM1810 has special implementation enabling it to implement PROFIBUS master and slave functionality. PROFIBUS is a popular real-time industrial communication standard used in industrial automation. AM1810 enables implementation of PROFIBUS and also the application in 1 single processor saving the system level BOM and reducing the complexity.

You can find more info about this at: ti.com/AM1810

Pl let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Srik,

I see it. A curious question is why this important difference is not listed in the feature comparison table (in the first post)?
