Hi,
To my knowledge there are not any examples on how to do a MAC loopback test. There are other means to accomplish similar testing. Which OS are you using?

Hello,
Our subject-matter expert is out of office today. In the mean time, could you if there are any specific reason why the customer would like to do MAC loopback test?
If the purpose is to test connectivity of the ethernet port, an easier way to test that is to connect your device under test (DUT) to another device or PC (direct link partner) check the following:
1. Make sure IP address of DUT and Link Partner are in the same subnet (can be static or dynamically assigned IP addresses)
2. Do ethtool <interface name> and check if "Link detected" is yes.
3. Check ethtool -S <interface name> MAC statistics and check there are no errors.

Hi,
We do not have an example we can share on how to do a MAC loopback test in Linux. When we do this testing we connect the EVM to a link partner and use the HW MAC statistics available through ethtool with the -S option. We can provide additional support through this model. Is there an issue you are seeing?
