AM625: DDR cofiguration for the custom board

Hi TI Masterminds,

We are using different DDR memory in our custom board then what are the changes we need to make to bring up the custom board?

DDR memory used in the EVK is MT40A1G16KD-062EIT:E.

DDR memory used in the Custom Board is MTFC16GAPALBH-IT.

Can you please help us to make proper changes?

Please go to dev.ti.com and find the syscfg tool for DDR , this is the tool that we provide for customers to leverage for DDR/LPDDR memories they plan to use on their boards.

You can also find a quick link for that on the device folder (search for DDR Subsystem Registers)

Just for clarification: We have used MT40A1G16TB-062E IT:F DDR in our custom board.

Abhishek, the only difference then between the device you are using and the EVM is the package. You most likely can use the EVM configuration (choose Reference Design: SK-AM62) , and the only changes you would need to make would be any drive strength or termination settings that are specific to your board.

Hi Mukul Bhatnagar,

We are using a different DDR than the DDR used in the EVK and I cannot see any option to select DDR part in syscfg tool for DDR.

Can you please help me how to select DDR memory and where I need to update the files?

Abhishek, please check the README in the tool https://dev.ti.com/sysconfig/?product=Processor_DDR_Config&device=AM62x for instructions on how to configure for your DDR. You should not have to make many change as i mentioned above.
