Hi Expert,

I have a requirement for clock accuracy like below.

Temperature (°C) Tolerance (per day)
20 ±2s
< -10 or > 60  ±6s
< -30 or > 80 ±13s
< -40 or > 85 ±17s

Could AM62P can meet this requriement?

  • This will depend on the frequency accuracy and frequency stability of the AM62P reference clock source across the -40 to +85 temperature range, that you select for your system design.

    Your clock source would need to more accurate than 23.148 Parts Per Million (PPM) to achieve the goal of +/-2s per day. However, the clock source could vary as much as 196.76 PPM when operating at the -40 or +85 temperature extremes without violating the goal of +/-17s per day.

    It may be a challenge to find a low-cost source that is able to achieve the initial frequency accuracy. If you find a clock source that is rated to operate from -40 to +85 with an initial accuracy better than 23 PPM, there is a good chance it will have a temperature variation that is better than you need to maintain the accuracy across the temperature range.

  • The clocks inside AM62Px are derived from the reference clock connected to MCU_OSC0 and/or WKUP_LFOSC0. You must connect a 25MHz reference clock to MCU_OSC0. Connecting a 32.768kHz reference clock to WKUP_LFOSC0 is optional.

    You should use clock tree tool provided in the SYSCONGIG tool to help develop a better understand the AM62Px clocking topology.
