SK-AM64B: ICSS & HSR/PRP Queries

Hi Amey,
Sorry for the delay here, please find the answers below:

1. Can you share Linux and RTOS API documentation for ICSS?

Linux:
ICSSG Ethernet Documentation: 3.6.3.3. PRU_ICSSG Ethernet — Processor SDK AM64X Documentation
HSR Documentation: 3.2.2.7. HSR Offload — Processor SDK AM64X Documentation

RTOS:
PRU-ICSS Documentation: AM64x MCU+ SDK: PRUICSS (ti.com)
PRU-ICSS API Guide: AM64x MCU+ SDK: APIs for PRUICSS (ti.com)
HSR 100M API Guide: AM64x INDUSTRIAL COMMUNICATIONS SDK: HSR_PRP(High-availability seamless Redundancy/Parallel Redundancy Protocol) FWHAL
Enet LLD IOCTL interface:
AM64x MCU+ SDK: Enet LLD IOCTL interface (ti.com)

2. Kindly provide the cut through benchmarking data for HSR 100M?

1G Cut-through Latency: 1.2 us
100M Cut-through Latency: 4 us

As expected, this cut-through latency can get impacted if the host is also sending packets.

3. Please share 100M PRP Offload v/s non-offload, CPU performance data for comparison.

We do not have 100M offload implementation for AM64x right now. From the HSR Offload benchmarking we have (~500Mbps throughput):
Offloading TX Tag Insertion + Packet Duplication: ~10% CPU cycles savings
Offloading RX Tag Removal + Host Duplicate Discard: ~22% CPU cycles savings
We expect similar savings for PRP as well.
For PRP at 100M may conclude CPU savings of 2% and 5%. (As above are at 500Mbps)

I have notified the developers on the query and will update over here as I find more information.

Thanks,
Himanshu
