Changes on EVM schematics

Hi all.

I saw that in this days there was a new release for the EVM8148 board. I checked changes between the old relase (A 2.5) and noticed there was 2 important improvements.

1) U74 picogate was not present in the old release and it seems that the enable for this regulator is determined only from the VDDA_1V8 power rail.
Is it correct? What was the needs that motivate this change?
There is any warning related on this?

2) U59 TPS3808G09DBV was not present in precedent release. What's the scope of this new component?
I can understand that U59 monitors the Core supply and when it drop below the minimun allowed, the IC is reset.

Thank you all for interesting on my questions.

  • Andrea,

    1) The previous revision used GPIO8 from the PMIC.  We found that this GPIO is not controlled by the power up sequence.  So U74 was added to fix this bug.

    2) U59 was added to insure PORz stays low if the core supply does not come up.

    Sorry for the late response!
    Best regards,
    Scott
