PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X: IPC -- the video https://www.ti.com/video/6284567407001 is out of date - should refresh for AM64X SDKs v9.2

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDS64EVM

As the graceful shutdown has been implemented in even the AM64X SDK v 9.1 in 2024, this video Process This: Inter-Processor Communication | Video | TI.com  and the slides  https://www.ti.com/content/dam/videos/external-videos/8/3816841626001/6284567407001.mp4/subassets/211116_inter-processor_communication_on_am64x_-_read-only.pdf were circa 2021,

TI should update the materrial so that the AM6442B (and the TMDS64EVM, not the GP version) should be added/amended. Should link the TMDS64EVM as well not just the SK-AM64x modules.

  • Hello Jim,

Agreed that it is about time for me to refresh that video.

Unfortunately, video takes a lot more effort to update than text, and you're already aware of how long it is taking me to update the academies from SDK 9.0 to SDK 9.1 (10 commits in so far, several of them from you. I'm halfway through writing the AM62Px multicore academy pages, AM64x-specific SDK 9.1 is the only part left after that). So I would love to do a re-recording, but at least through the rest of 1H2024 I need to focus on overhauling the entire multicore academy module.

However, as a part of the multicore academy overhaul, I am pulling in the details that I included in that video, but are not currently in the academy. So updated information IS getting put on the web, just in a different place. What I haven't decided is whether I want to consider an IPC video recording refresh on 2H2024, or just potentially record a new video session (or series) that covers all the concepts in the multicore academy module, not just the IPC part of it.

    Regards,

    Nick
