PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X: Where to find GCC Toolchain 11.4?

I want to build the boot binaries for our AM64x based processor module without the SDK in a standalone build as described here 3.1.1.1. General Information — Processor SDK AM64X Documentation.

The TI documentation recommends to download the required GCC Toolchain from the official Arm Gnu Toolchain download page Arm GNU Toolchain Downloads – Arm Developer.

However, ARM does not provide the GCC toolchain 11.4 which is needed to build the boot binaries for release 09_02_00_08.

Where can I get GCC toolchain 11.4?

Hi Claudia,

The arm tool chain for SDK release comes with Openembedded core >> meta-arm repository

Ref: https://git.yoctoproject.org/meta-arm/tree/meta-arm-toolchain?h=kirkstone This is based on 11.4 and devkit should have this version.

You are also right, https://developer.arm.com/downloads/-/arm-gnu-toolchain-downloads didnt release this 11.4 specific version ,

but the closest version is 11.3.Rel1 if you want to use standalone toolchain from arm developer site to build standalone components like Uboot/Kernel/ATF/OPTEE.

Both of these versions are tested for building respective components and boot binaries are build and verified at developer level for both versions. So, It all depends on what is your preference and component to build.

For the SDK matching experience , Use toolchain that comes from yocto SDK package .
