DRA821U-Q1: Can MMCSD0, MMCSD1 connect 2x eMMC version 5.1 devices ?

Hi Matt,

What other on-board memory can have Linux OS boot up other than eMMC?

Can it boot up from on-board SSD with PCIe1 interface ?

We need to use eMMC for our data storage  and cannot share it with OS memory.

Forgot to mention that our system will be booting up from OSPI  as bootstrap set

boot from OSPI flash, 

I am looking for on-board storage for the OS installation, I do not want to use eMMC, then what else can be used for Linux OS installtion?

This is okay. We support the xSPI boot from DRA821.

Yes. This should be okay as well. Just another thought - why can't we partition eMMC to 2 partitions & then use one for Linux rootfs and the other for secure storage?

our customer does not want to share the eMMC between data storage and Linux because data storage will need special care with high temperature.

for SSD connection, please see attached picture,  I plan to use Micron  SSD with PCIe connection. is there a problem to use SSD to install Linux ?
