SK-AM62: Display interface

Hello Community,

I am working on developing an HMI cluster with AM62x SKEVM. My display panel supplier is offering either LVDS or RGB interface. The SK-AM62, as per it's datasheet, offers OLDI and HDMI interfaces. How can I interface my display with the SK-AM62 directly through either RGB or LVDS?

Hi,

Just to clarify, we support RGB and LVDS with AM62x. On our EVM, we include a HDMI transmitter where RGB signals are converted to HDMI signals. In terms of LVDS, here is an example with our DT: https://git.ti.com/cgit/ti-linux-kernel/ti-linux-kernel/tree/arch/arm64/boot/dts/ti/k3-am62-lp-sk-lincolntech-lcd185-panel.dtso?h=ti-linux-6.1.y

Thanks for the quick response and the reference!

I further need to clarify the following:

1. OLDI : As the EVM supports OLDI (open lvds display interface) and the display supplier is offering LVDS, is there any additional hardware required on the EVM? Does this also require any changes in the drivers (Will be running Android on the EVM) ?

2. RGB: As the supplier is alternatively offering RGB interface, currently is there a way to access the RGB pins of the AM62X MPU in the EVM, other than through the HDMI?

1. For LVDS/OLDI panels, the EVM only supports the following panel: https://www.ti.com/tool/SK-LCD1. Unfortunately, you cannot connect any other panel unless you change the connector on the board or make your own custom board.

2. On the EVM, there is no other way to access the RGB pins.
