Linux on OMAP L138 eXperimentor kit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Hi All,

I recently received a OMAP-L138 kit from TI.  It works nicely with the sample SD card Linux.  Now I want to build a setup more suitable to my intended application.

The SD card is split into two partitions. The first is a FAT32 the second ext3, the first is offset by 21.

All the DIP switches are set to OFF as instructed by the manual.  With no SD card present  I get the message.

SD/MMC Boot failed.

From this I deduce that the U-Boot loader is not on the SPI-Flash, and is loaded from the SD Card.

So my questions are:

1. What is in the first 20 'blocks' of the SD Card ?

2. Is there a utility to construct an with a valid layout that will at least start u-boot ?

3. Can I place u-boot in the SPI flash ? if so waht is the safest procedure ?

If these are FAQs, I apologise but any help, including pointers to the appropriate documentation, much appreciated.

Regards,

Andrew
