Thanks Bin.  Yes just looking now, we had RTC disabled in uboot's dts but not in linux's.

I think we're getting closer.

Just trying to enable wakeup now on ttyS1 (console). Is there any other trick/dts update needed around this?

We enter suspend but never come back out...
