I am running ospi example code on default board TMDS64EVM. flash type is S28HS512T.

In TRM, it said"

12.3.2.1.2 OSPI Not Supported Features
The following features are not supported on this family of devices:
•
DMA not supported.
•
Pulse events not used.
•
In Octal-SPI and Quad-SPI mode, Mode 1, 2, and 3 are not supported.

However, From sdk and from example, dma is fully supported.

so in "The following features are not supported on this family of devices:", what is this family of devices? can you listed.

DMA is working fine in TMDS64EVM.

Hi Jun,

When we say that DMA is not supported, that would mean that it is not provided as a T SW offering. But it might be supported at the SoC level.

So yes, you can go ahead and experiment with the DMA operations as you did in the OSPI application.

Moreover, can you please explain the flow of DMA here?

Is it just copy data via DMA from the flash to a certain memory(like DDR, MSRAM and so on)?

yes, it is just copy data via DMA from the flash to MSRAM.

Hello Jun,

Yes DMA copy from the flash to MSRAM is possible(at SoC level but TI does not supports it). Do you need a sample code for the same?
