C6678 SRIO Ref Clk

Referencing SPRUGY5.pdf Table 3-4

This table shows the C6678 does NOT support a 125MHz SRIO reference clock.  Will there be support for 125MHz?

Note, they will not be doing SRIO boot if that makes a difference.  They currently use a C64xx DSP that does support 125MHz SRIO reference clock.

Thanks!

  • Hi Brian,

The data manual is correct when it states that the C6678 does not support 125MHz as an SRIO reference clock.  The only supported frequencies are 156.25MHz, 250MHz and 312.5MHz.

  • Bill,

Just to verify then.  They must have one of the 3 frequencies supported for us to guarantee operation per data sheet and SRIO operation - correct?

125Mhz may or may not work, we can't guarantee operation per data sheet and SRIO spec unless one of the 3 frequencies is provided - correct?

    Thanks.

    Marc

  • That is correct.  We have characterized the operation of the part with the three frequencies listed in the data manual.  We can not guarantee the operation of the SRIO across process and temperature unless a clock is used which meets the jitter specifications and is one of the specified frequencies.
