Hi

Feature: Implementation of Audio/Video Talker - Listener using 2 DRA79X EVB Boards.

I see this EVM board supports GB Ethernet AVB and Android OS. Could you please let us know,

  • Does TI Android release have support for AVB, that required to implement the Video Talker & Listener?
  • To implement Listener & Talker using two DRA79X boards, does DRA79x EVM board require any external hardware (as daughter boards). Please suggest.
  • What are the Audio & Video codecs supported by DRA79X processor, no information available in the user manual. (H.264/H.265)

    Hi Ganapathi,

    Thanks for your query. Please note that the DRA79x Android SDK found here is the last available release on this device family. Please refer the release note & accompanying documentation for all the features supported. The above requested feature is not supported in the SDK and we do not plan to add any feature or provide any future support on this device.

    • As alternative, If I use Linux release, does it support requested feature?
    • Please let me know, if this SoC support H264/265 decoding.

    Hello Ganapathi,

    You can find this information in the Datasheet or TRM.

    I believe this SoC might not have this capability. I believe the video accelerators are present on the DRA71x processors. Please reach out to your local TI sales representative to see what in our portfolio can offer this functionality. The DRA7x family software has been deprecated and its not well supported.
