What is the model number for the 4k60 CMOS camera module you are referring to? Is it a CSI camera?

Hello Sarabesh,

Any CMOS module that can support 4k60p over MIPI and compatible with the AM68 EVK is fine for us. But we need the CMOS module to test with the EVK to ensure the encoder performance.

I believe as long as it is a CSI camera it can be supported on the EVM. If you have a specific model number I can check that.

As I said, any 4k60p CMOS module that is directly comapatible with AM68 evaluation kit is fine for me. I have IMX485 CMOS module from econn system with me. But this IMX485 module won't be pin to pin compatible with the connector of AM68 EVK and also need to check the driver compatibility.

I like to know how you have tested the 4k60p feature of processor's encoder/decoder. What CMOS was used to test the EVK?

Also, I need to know about the power consumption if we only use the CMOS module encoder and stream it over WiFi.

This can be tested through a camera capture input however, it can also be tested through a file source input. I have only tested 4k60 support for our CODEC IP through a 4k60 file input.

We don't have the board yet. We are in the feasibility stage and I am exploring the AM68 for my application. Once I have enough details to confirm the AM68 processor, I will procure the AM68 EVK for testing. But before that I need to confirm the features of the processor.

So, kindly help me resolve the query asap. I am also looking for power & thermal data.

Hi Bino, 

The IMX219 camera is an 8MP camera which should support your use-case. You can find an assorted list of the supported camera sensors for the AM68A HERE.

The sensor you shared have 1080p at 30fps and our requirement is of 4k60fps. We need directly compatible sensor for our testing. Could you help me figure that out?

Hi Bino, 

Yes you are right. Apologies for the miscommunication. There seems to not be a current 4k60 camera supported. The supported IMX219 camera supports up to 4k30 at most. The sensor you are looking for seems to IMX477, but it is not included in our SDK as of right now.
