Hi

I'm working on a safety project that targets ASIL B. I would like to have some information regarding the safety manual. SPRUIR1_DRA829_TDA4VM_Safety_Manual_F7_Automotive.pdf

In our project, syspage registers are checked at startup to prevent hardware failure.  Do we the following register have to be considered? '6.3.224 MMR write protection mechanisms'

Does a faulty initialization of those register can affect the chip behavior and lead to a failure?

Thanks for your feedback.

  • Hi Yohann,

Regarding MMR-F3 - MMR write protection mechanisms, this is covered in the SDL_J721E_diagnostic_mapping.xlsx, where row entry indicates, that MMR-F3 is a H/W Diagnostic for "Fault Avoidance", where "Fault Avoidance" is defined on Data Validation tab as "Diagnostics completely implemented in HW and not requiring any SW to be developed. Generally to avoid faults ".

I believe the System integrator only needs to be aware of the read/write protection as described below.
