USB I/O device and memory stick access through SYS/BIOS

Hi,

I have two  tasks at my hand. 

First accessing USB memory (Pen drive-8 GB, FAT32 system) that is connected to my OMAP-L138  DEV kit.  Is it possible under SYS/BIOS? If yes plz suggest corresponding APIs for USB memory.

The second is to interface an I/O device that is connected to the USB port.

How to read /write t a particular pin of the I/O device. Any getting started examples for this?
