Does OMAPL137 support a single 8-bits SDRAM?

Hi folks

Does OMAPL137 support a single 8-bits SDRAM?

I just found the read-write operation to 8bit SDRAM is not functioning normally.

Is there a solution?

thanks very much in advance.

  • Hello Zhangyg ,

OMAPL137 does not support 8-bits SDRAM.

There is two external memory interfaces that provide multiple external memory options accessible by

                       the CPU and master peripherals:

                       1. EMIFA:  16-bit SDRAM with 128-MB

                       2. EMIFB supports 32/16-bit SDRAM with up to 256-MB SDRAM

Only 8/16-bit wide asynchronous EMIF module that supports ASRAM.

    Hello Abhijit

    Thanks for your kind help.

I think OMAPL137 can support 8-bits SDRAM by combining 4 pcs 8-bits chips, right?

Or Should I have to using two 16-bits chips or one single 32-bits chips?

    thanks again

  • Hi Hugo, no the device only supports 1x or 2x chip configurations. You cannot use 4x 8-bit chips.
