Tool/software:

Hi

I'm working on a safety project on TDA4VM.  I would like to know if the firewall can restrict the bootstrap modules from read/writing?

My concern is the following. Our module deals with write/ read actions in some safety critical areas:

  • Region in memory to store the three verifier signatures
  • Page Tables
  • System Page: The smp->start_addr

If a firewall is set up by the customer bootloader and prohibits our module from writing to these regions, the system will be able to function properly.

Has the firewall an impact on page table or memory?

Thanks for your support

Yohann

  • Hi yohann

    We do have region based firewall and peripheral firewall.

    Region based firewall are used to protect certain address range of Memory (DDR/SRAM) whereas peripheral based firewall are placed in place of peripheral to protect the peripheral register and Memory.

    Please go through the "Initiator-Side Security Controls and Firewalls" section of the TRM and do let us know if you still have any question.
