TDA4VH-Q1: Could Robotics SDK Run on TDA4VH

Part Number: TDA4VH-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VH, AM67A, TDA4VM, AM68A, AM69A

Tool/software:

Hi TI Experts,

Customers plan to run Robotics SDK9.2 on TDA4VH.

However, when I look at the Robotics SDK guide below, it just mentions the devices name for TDA4VM, AM67A, AM68A, and AM69A.

https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/robotics-sdk/09_02_00/TDA4VM/docs/index.html

Hence, may I know if it is possible for customer to run this Robotics SDK on TDA4VH?

Thanks,

Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

Underlying software is the same between TDA4VH and AM69A, and these two SoC's are pin compatible, so hardware-wise and software-wise they are very similar. So yes, functionally, it would be possible to run Robotics SDK on TDA4VH.

However, from a support and testing perspective, the recommendation would be to run Robotics SDK on AM69A instead of TDA4VH. Because, we do not officially support Robotics SDK on TDA4VH, so we do not test the Robotics SDK on TDA4VH EVM board. This means there may be some unforeseen bugs that have not been encountered yet by our development team and other customers that use the SDK.

For the best customer experience, I would recommend running the Robotics SDK on AM69A.

    Regards,

    Takuma
