SERDES_CLKN/P trace length from oscillator to device

Hello,

The datasheet of AM3894 described "SERDES_CLKN/P trace length from oscillator to device" is 2000 Mils (MAX) (SPRS681B, Table 7-10. SERDES_CLKN/P Routing Specifications). But the current EVM BOARD has 4000 mils. Please answer following questions

1. Please teach the reason of "2000 mils (MAX)"
2. Is it OK over 2000mils?

Does anyone support this thread?

This specification ("SERDES_CLKN/P trace length from oscillator to device" is 2000 Mils (MAX)) is very short to draw board pattern. And this spec. is to much to meet a clock specification.

Is this specification to avoid EMI issue?

Hello,

This specification can be relaxed to a longer length (although it is best to keep it as short as possible.) This will be updated in the next datasheet revision.
