Hi Experts,

Considering I will qualify my design for up to 85 °C when using AM625P.

How do I have to calculate the junction temperature ?

Are my assumptions correct that there will be 2 parallel thermal resistances (Rjunction to board + Rjunction to air)

so that the following simulation correct ?

Alex,

There are many resources available about how to estimate junction temperature. I am linking a TI app note that is for a difference component, but the principles hold true: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slua844

Thermal resistance characteristics for the AM62SIP are defined in the datasheet: https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/am625sip

Some of the values for thermal resistnace in this simulation seem like they need modification to match what is documented in the datasheet.
