SK-AM68: SD card creation error

The board is not SK-AM68A, but SK-AM68.

Both AM68 and AM68A SDKs are compatible with SK-AM68. Most customers use the AM68A SDK for SK-AM68 for the Edge AI capabilities.

AM68 SDK features out of box Industrial Qt software-based HMI demo mimicking "operator level" of Industrial automation demonstrating integrated display, graphics acceleration, CSI and ethernet/WiFi connectivity.

AM68A SDK features sample camera analytics applications demonstrating integrated processing across heterogeneous on-chip cores and hardware accelerators using GStreamer and open-source deep-learning inference frameworks  such as TensorFlow Lite, ONNX and TVM/NEO-AI-DLR.

Which version of Balena Etcher are you using? I recommend following the Edge AI documentation linked in my previous response to help with setting up the hardware and software.

I am using Ubuntu 22.04 and Balena Etcher 1.19.17.

I have used this combination for several months to make SD cards for the boot of the other edge devices.

Also, I tried Balena Etcher 1.7.0 as your comment, but it was not installed in my computer.

I think Ubuntu 22.04 and Balena Etcher 1.7.0 do not match each other.

What size SD card are you using? Could you please try re-downloading the WIC image and trying again with your current setup?

I am using 128G SD card.

Today, I tried them after re-downloading the WIC images of both SK-AM68 and SK-AM68A.

But results are same.

Hi Kevin,

Have you tried running as administrator and reformatting the SD card? If the issue persists, I suggest posting this issue to the balena forums or flashing your SD card another way. These WIC images have been tested by us.

Hi Fabiana,

I had tired it many times as reformatting and change(three of 128G, one of 32G) of SD card.

The strange thing is that it is very difficult to reformat SD card after one copy of AM68 image file.

Of course, all this work was done in administrator mode.

But the results are same.

I think this issue may not be by balenaEtcher because the SD cards for other edge computers (RasberyPI, JetsonNano etc.) are created well in the same system.

Are you able to flash an older SDK version of the image such as v09.01.00.06? I will test the 9.2 image on my end using BalenaEtcher 1.7.9.
