SK-TDA4VM: Unable to boot eval kit through flashed SD card

Tool/software:

I've been trying to boot the kit from a flashed SD card but am unable to do so.

Here's information on this:

SD card is flashed with https://dr-download.ti.com/software-development/software-development-kit-sdk/MD-4K6R4tqhZI/09.02.00.05/tisdk-edgeai-image-j721e-evm.wic.xz

Boot mode switches are set up as: 1- ON, 2-OFF, 3-ON, 4-OFF

Power is provided via the USB C cable

Display monitor is connected via the HDMI port.

Hello,

To get started on the SK-TDA4VM, download the latest SDK WIC image and follow the steps outlined in the SDK documentation. Reference the user guide to the boot mode settings. For microSD card boot, it should be: 1- OFF, 2- OFF, 3- OFF

Hi Fabiana, thanks for the response. I did adjust the DIP switches to the boot mode settings above : SW1: OFF, SW2: OFF, SW3: OFF. Everything else is the same as what you mentioned (wic image flashed on SD card etc.). This still doesn't do anything. I've been trying to monitor the serial output on Putty/Tera Term but I don't see anything there either.

Hi,

Do you see any LEDs light up as you power on the board with a 20V, 3A USB type C power supply? Are you connected to /dev/ttyUSB2 with the baud rate configured to 115200 bps? What version of Balena Etcher did you use to flash your SD card? We have validated with version 1.7.0.

Yes I see a led LED light up when I connect a USB C power supply. I'm connected to /dev/ttyUSB0 with baud rate 115200 - this is what I'd configured it as when building the SDK. I'm using version 1.19.21 of Balena Etcher - I can try with your version. However I try to read the contents of the flashed SD card on my laptop I am able to do - so wouldn't that mean it's been flashed?
