Can DM6437 VPBE digital out be put at 30 fps?

Expert 2220 points

Hi, after looking through the documentation I could find any way to adjust the output framerate of the digital VPBE on the dm6437. I am capturing images at 60 fps, subtracting consecutive images, and would like to output the difference at 30 fps into another dm6437 video port to do additional processing. Right now it is outputting at 60 fps so the second DSP is catching two of every difference image. Is there a way to change the output to 60 fps? Or do i have to get creative on the second DSP and figure out which frame is a double and which one is not?

Thanks,

Ben

  • Ben,

I am assuming you are sending only the 30 frames of interest here.

How are you sourcing your clock? If the output frame & input frame are of identical size (i.e., same active video and blanking interval), then you need to reduce your output clock by 2. If you are using PCLK as the bit clock, then there is not really a good way -- you will have to increase blanking so the overall line size is twice the size of the overall input line size. Please refer to the VPBE user guide for more detail on this.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

    regards,

    Paul
