GStreamer or not GStreamer

I'm developing a video compression/streaming application on the 816x EVM and GStreamer seems to be the perfect framework, especially that it is all over the place in this workshop:

TI816x_One-day_Workshop

I must say that I was a little bit confused when I looked that POST. It basically says that there is no support for GStreamer for the TI816x !

Did any of you had success using gst-openmax or gst-ducati on the TI816x ? Is there any example out there ?

Or maybe you preferred interfacing OpenMax directly ?

I really would appreciate if some of you could share your experience... After all we are pretty much working all on a similar application.

Hello,

Initial support for GStreamer will be in the next EZSDK release in 4Q, 2011.

Could you please tell us what kind of feature this 'Initial support' will include?

I am really interested in the following two application:

1.Video streaming via RTP?

2. Audio video synchronization?

Will the C code be provided for the media streaming in the next release SDK5.03?

I checked another thread, which said that the date of next release would be 28th Oct, instead of "2nd Week Nov 201"

Sorry, I don't have an exact date; I just know that it was pushed out into November.

Thanks for your quick reply very much.

Will the C code for video/audio streaming over Network be provided together with the new SDK?

I just got the new gstreamer-openmax lib yesterday and found most openmax components now are encapsulated into Gstreamer.

If there are some C examples be provided, it would be greatly helpful for our development.
