AM69A: YoloX Roadmap and Licensing

Part Number: AM69A

Tool/software:

Hello -

We have two questions from a customer who is working with AM69A:

Is there a timetable for TI support and availability for more recent, higher performing networks such as yol0v7 and yol0v8?

Some of the current models have fairly permissive licenses (e.g. YoloX - Apache-2.0) while others (YoloV5 - AGPL-3.0) are more restrictive. How does TI handle licensing, with respect to their customer end users?

Thank you,

Ross

  • Hello team - is there an update on this request? Any comments you can make about Yolo v7 and v8?

    Thank you,

    Ross

  • Hello - we have a meeting with the customer tomorrow and would like to provide an update on this request. Anything you can share?

    Thank you,

    Ross

  • Licensing has to be handled by end customer. TI is not using these in end product and providing inference solution for these models. You can compare to an analogy of a vendor-A is providing a media player and that player can play any movie. If someone want to watch a licensed movie then he/she need to pay license fee to the creator of movie and can play using media player of vendor-A. Similar to this, TI is vendor-A here who is providing inference solution and these models are analogous to movie

BTW yolov8 is supported by SDK 9.2

    Thanks,
    with Regards,

    Pramod
