There is not USB ID pin On AM6x device, but it still tells user to use USB ID Pin.

“otg”

Specifies the USB module to work in dual-role mode, in which the mode is determined by the USB_ID pin status. The USB module works in host mode when USB_ID pin is grounded, or in device mode when USB_ID pin is float.

When dr_mode = “otg”, the USB_ID pin should be routed to the ID pin of the USB receptacle. That allows the inserted USB cable to control the status of the USB_ID pin.

Thanks for the feedback. We will update the Academy.

The missing context is that the USB_ID pin here should be a GPIO pin, it is specified as a USB ID pin in kernel device tree. Note that this is only applicable when the USB receptacle is micro-AB, not type-C.

In the USB type-C applications, this GPIO USB ID pin is not needed.

Is there a dts example to use gpio pin as usb id pin?

Hi Tony,

I don't have an DTS example. The SK EVM has a PD device on USB0 and doens't use a GPIO pin for USB ID, so it is not straight forward to implement this on the EVM.
