Hi TI-Team,

while making analysis of DRA829/TDA4VM errata (SPRZ455D), we found issue i2329.Since we're not using any PDK/SDK or Linux and have to implement our own drivers, this issue seems severe.

We already tried to implement own MDIO driver and it works reliably on our custom boards (currently have TDA4VM processor on it). In future we plan to use DRA829JMTGBALFRQ1.

Can we somehow understand if this issue affects the processor version we want to use or not? In other words we want to know if the issue might affect us and if we need to implement the proposed workaround.

Yes, It affects TDA4VM/DRA829, RDA821, TDA4VL SoCs.

It will not affect only TD4AEN and TDA4VH.

Yes, you have to implement proposed workaround.

You can refer PDK has Manual Mode implementation.
In case of Linux it will be using bitbang mdio.

just to understand completely, is there any rule to identify the affected item or it is a sporadic/random issue?

As I mentioned initially we implemented MDIO driver based on using CPSW_MDIO_USER_ACCESS_REG_k registers and till now we haven't had any issues with it.

No, its a sporadic Issue can occur at any point of time.

It is hard to produce but it is random. If issue observed, until power cycle issue still persist.
We recommend to use Manual mode.
