  • Hi,

Based on your above logs, the HDMI does not even support 864x480 so how would you enable it?

  • Hi, Krunal

Because I want to use HDMI connect to DLPC120 (DMD, https://www.ti.com/product/zh-tw/DLPC120-Q1)

I feel a little bit curious, HDMI output support max 1920x1080, why can't support 864x480?

I thought we can modify related driver to support 864x480, so I post this thread.

May I know the reason? Is it AM62x limitation? Or just software driver problems (Not implement) ?

Because I may need try to explain to customer.

    Many Thanks

  • Hi,

There is no HW or SW limitations from the SoC perspective. The SoC will communicate with your HDMI monitor through EDID protocol and the monitor will inform the SoC about the supported resolutions, respective timing and FPS information. For example, look at the modetest data from your above logs and it indicates all the different resolutions supported by your HDMI monitor. Based on the logs, your HDMI monitor does not list the resolution you are looking so SoC won't generate any signals. I have seen people online create fake EDID information and that tricks SoC into generating video signals but it's not something we test or support out of the box.

    Regards,
    Krunal
